Martin Luther King, Jr. Educational Awards Program - January 5, 2018 (Several Scholarships)

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Educational Awards Program is designed to provide educational scholarships and awards to deserving youths who are role models for social change.


The criteria for selecting recipients of this award is as follows:


1. Must be a Senior graduating in the Class of 2018;


2. Must be average to above average automatically;


3. Must be a role model for social change;


4. Must come from a school district that recognizes the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday by releasing all students to attend the holiday celebration activity. (Any student wanting a waiver of this requirement will be considered by the Committee for such upon request);


5. Must pursue a post high school educational program; (i.e., community college, vocational school, technical school, or university); and 


6. Must include social security number on the application and must sign the application (This will be treated with utmost confidentiality, but is required for audit purposes if scholarship is awarded.)


Applications can be obtained on the Scholarship Wall outside of the College & Career Center. Application forms are to be returned by the applicant to the counselor or mailed with a postmark date no later than Tuesday, December 19, 2017 to the following address:
