Community Open House

Volunteer at the Community Open House

This winter, F.L. Schlagle High School is pleased to announce that it will be organizing a Community Open House featuring a variety of activities such as a health fair, a forum on immigrant rights, a bake off, and an exhibition of student work. We believe that it is our responsibility to serve the needs of our community and build stronger relationships within it. To that end, we invite you to consider volunteering with us and becoming a part of this exciting event. You are an important part of our community. Consequently, we  would enjoy having the opportunity to serve alongside you at this event.

The event will take place on Monday, December 11th from 5:00-7:00pm at F.L. Schlagle High School. Below you will find a list of volunteer needs. There is also a link at the bottom of the list where you can go to sign up for a specific volunteer position.

  • Welcome Table: We will need 5 volunteers to operate the welcome table. In this position, you will welcome everyone who comes through our doors and distribute information and maps to our guests and participating organizations. More instructions and information will be provided once a volunteer team is established.
  • Bakeoff: We will need 2 volunteers to operate this station. Parents, staff, and students are invited to enter into a “bake off,” and you will be responsible for helping individuals to taste the various entries and to vote on the tastiest item. At the end of the event, you will announce the winner. More instructions and information will be provided once a volunteer team is established.

  • Decorations: We will need 10 volunteers to help us set up for this event. We are planning to have a winter themed event, and we will need help in setting up tables and decorating the space for the event. More instructions and information will be provided once a volunteer team is established.

If you would be interested in volunteering to help with any of the above tasks, please follow this link to the sign up sheet. Once the teams have been established, we will send further information and instructions.

Regardless of your interest in volunteering with us, please mark your calendars and plan to join us at our Community Open House this December!
